A little peek into the pattern making process
As I was working on this weeks episode about making patterns fit well, I realized that I need to take my own advice and get the Daydreamer tested - again. I've been hesitant to, because I've already had two rounds of testing it, albeit in slightly different versions, and I don't want to delay it further.
But. It has to work.
I strongly believe that the difference between good patterns and those that are illegible and just don't work, is having many different sets of eyes on it, and reworking it until it...well...works the way I intend it to.
My technical editor gave incredibly useful feedback, and that feeling of knowing this is going to be a really good, thoroughly worked through pattern trumps the impatience. That, and banana bread. Banana bread helps in almost any situation.
This is such a slow process, and I prefer working at a much faster pace, but I don't want to put more trouble into the world, so I'm crossing my fingers I can make a system out of it and get it streamlined in the future.
Upcoming
I have a lot coming this fall!
The temperatures are beginning to drop here in Norway, and fall always means adding as many layers of wool as I can stand without boiling, since it's finally possible after a hot summer. So that means there'll be some smaller patterns coming: mittens, scarves and a shawl!
I have a huge bank of unpublished patterns, and an even bigger bank of ideas, so... I just need to get this pattern press up and running!
Next weeks big episode will be the reveal of the Aros-sweaters, and I COULD NOT be happier about how they turned out. So different, but so lovely in their own way.

To check if your colors have enough contrast to work in a color scheme:
Take a picture with your phone and make it grayscale.
When you don't see the chroma or saturation levels anymore, the light-dark value will become apparent and stand out.
Look how similar the orange and the grayish purple looks in the grayscale picture!
